Security Engineering Officer
As a Security Engineering Officer in the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), you will be responsible for the systems and equipment that protect U.S. Department of State personnel, facilities, and sensitive information from physical, technical and cyber threats. SEOs use their background in engineering, computer science, physics or cybersecurity, in concert with worldclass training and professional development, to secure, protect and defend critical national security infrastructure and assets.
Use critical thinking and teamwork to design, implement and maintain sophisticated technical security systems. As a Security Engineering Officer, you will advise senior leadership on technical security matters, providing the technical expertise and project management to keep our assets secure. Every day you will problem solve new challenges that broaden your expertise in the face of rapidly evolving technologies, emerging threats and changing global environments.
