Civil Service Foreign Affairs Fellowship

The U.S. Department of State uses diplomacy to foster a global environment that encourages international collaboration and cooperation. Civil Service Foreign Affairs positions play a key role in the Department’s diplomacy efforts, performing critical functions, such as work related to foreign policy development and monitoring international agreements. To support the Secretary of State’s Modernization Agenda of acquiring more specialized talent, the Foreign Affairs Fellowship brings in fresh talent into the Department’s Civil Service foreign affairs community. The Fellowship vacancies are posted on an ongoing and as-needed basis starting in mid-August 2022 and are open to U.S. citizens whose educational background meets the basic requirement for the Foreign Affairs occupation as described in the USAJOBS announcement.
