This section of the test measures your ability to examine, analyze, and evaluate arguments and claims within a work-related scenario. The situations depicted in these questions are hypothetical and not meant to represent actual current issues in the Department. They are only meant to assess logical reasoning in realistic situations. No knowledge of the Foreign Service is needed to answer the questions, and answers based on knowledge of the Department’s practices may be incorrect. Only base answers on the correctness of the logical reasoning, and do not make any assumptions about information not provided in the scenario. For some questions, more than one answer could be correct sometimes or in part. Pick the best response from the answers provided.  You may change your answer by selecting a different option.

There is no penalty for guessing, so you should try to answer every question.
