Beginning March 23, the Foreign Service Board of Examiners Assessment Center will temporarily suspend assessments for both Generalists and Specialists. If you have an appointment after that date, you will automatically be rescheduled for a date in the future. At this time, rescheduled appointment dates are not being assigned pending a review of BEX operational status. If you are scheduled for an appointment before March 23, please see guidance below and you are encouraged to reschedule for a future date.

Any candidates with pending appointments for an Oral Assessment should review the CDC guidance. If a candidate is experiencing symptoms outlined in the guidance, believes they may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, is in self-imposed quarantine, or is experiencing difficulties with their travel arrangements related to COVID-19, they may contact MedHR@state.gov to have their oral assessment appointment rescheduled.

Rescheduling requests will be accommodated without medical or other documentation when provided a reason related to COVID-19 exposure, self-quarantine, or recent travel to a COVID-19 affected area. There is no fee to change an appointment.

Please register for the COVID-19 Updates subscription to receive future updates and specific guidance regarding COVID-19 and the assessment process.  Updates will be posted here.

    Thank you.
