I am a current Nurse candidate for a position overseas. I am trying to find out the process once my medical and security clearance are both completed. What happens next and how long does it normal take to deploy once you are offered a specific job contract???

Are there any websites that detail this process? I have called HR and they instructed me to Email Securityclearance@state.gov and they told be to contact HR. So I am confused where I can go to ask questions and get information on timing and what’s next??

    Hello, Kari,
Have you contacted the Registrar? Once your medical, security, and suitability clearances are completed, then the Registrar will notify you that your name has been placed on the register of cleared candidates in your specialty. Then the timing of a firm job offer depends on your ranking on the register (based on your oral assessment score plus any bonus points for veterans’ preference or language proficiency), the department’s budget, and hiring needs. Further details should be in your online candidate guide. The link and password for the guide should be in the passers’ packet given to you the day you passed the oral assessment.
    Best regards.
