My husband has been in the military for over 8 years now. He enlisted in the National Guard in 2003, was deployed to Iraq in 2005. He re-enlisted Active Duty Army in 2008, and has since been deployed to Afghanistan. He has earned his CIB. He is more than elidigable for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, and yet he submitted for it to be transferred to me back in December 2011, and it was in a state of processing for a month. Recently we tried to resubmit the transfer but it is now saying he doesn't have at least 6 years of service. I have paid out of pocket for tuition and books, which has caused a strain on the finances for our family.
I have contacted the VA, however they have told me they don't have any information because it is at a Department of State level still, and until it's approved, they cannot assist me. I don't know who specifically to contact, but I am rather stressed that getting benefits he has more than earned is this difficult. I would appreciate any sort of help in this matter. I've sent e-mails and have had no response, my husband has sent e-mails as well but we can't seem to get any answers. Please tell us what we need to do because every website I've seen with information on the Post 9/11 GI Bill hasn't given information about what to do in this situation.

Hi, Brittany,
I am afraid we do not have the information you require. You may want to send an email to VETS@state.gov to see if they can be of assistance.

Thank you. I posted on the Veterans page second because I realized after making the first post that it probably wasn't the appropriate forum for what I was asking. I didn't see a way of removing my post. So my apologies for making the same post twice, I was trying to correct a mistake, although I likely just wasted your time by having two of the same inquiries.
I did send an e-mail so I pray I get a response. I've been unlucky so far with e-mails, and this was actually the first response I've gotten (and so quickly too). Thank you so much and have a great week!
