Of those actually selected, only a small number will receive paid internships. Perhaps fewer than 100.

In the official offer letter that is coming through the mail, will it say whether our internship will be paid or unpaid?

Yes it will. Also, for those who applied for a paid internship: If you are advised in the letter that your internship will be unpaid, it is possible that, later, you may be advised that your internship will actually be paid. It will depend on funds, etc.

I noticed that some bureaus stated they offered paid positions, while others said they only offered unpaid positions. So if we seeked a paid internship, did it have to be for those bureaus stating "they offer paid positions"?

If a Bureau specifically states that they only offer unpaid positions, then those that applied to that Bureau would not receive a paid internship.

I'm a bit confused...earlier in the brochure, it states that for centrally funded internships, it did not matter what bureau you applied to, just that you were financially needy.

When you say "later", does that mean once I begin my internship or some time before then?
