Hello, I am interested in applying to the fall internship specifically to the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs abroad. I currently live in Japan as a study abroad student, can speak Japanese, Cantonese, and a little of Brazilian Portuguese. When I list a preferred location in my personal statement, am I limited to only one US embassy or US consulate (e.g. Consulate in Guangzhou, China)? Or may I list a few US consulates/embassies in preferred regions? I would prefer to be stationed in China, Hong Kong, Japan, or Macau. I have a few select US consulates in mind but am very open to the idea of being placed in any embassy or consulate in those regions.
