I will be commissioning as an active duty 2LT in the Army this summer but will probably not get a slot for BOLC until January. In the meantime I hope to do an internship with the State Department (PM/EUR) but I will not meet the criteria of being a post-grad student planning on attending graduate school immediately following my internship. My intent is to enter the Army's Foreign Area Officer program at which point I will be sent to get a Master's in an appropriate field but this will not happen for 5-6 years.
My question is whether or not exceptions are ever made to this particular requirement.

Thanks for your interest in our student internship program. Unfortunately, since you will not be attending grad school in the spring of 2013, you are not eligible for a fall 2012 internship. There are no exceptions to the educational requirements.
