Good evening,

I was selected as an alternate candidate for the Bureau of Resource Management. I sent in my security clearance package and was notified that it was successfully received. How likely are my chances for being selected in either that bureau or another?

Hi, Asha,
The chances of being selected as an alternate will depend on how many primary selectees are unable to fulfill their internships for any reason, so we really can't give you a definitive reply. Should an opportunity arise, the Student Programs Branch will get in touch with you.

Thank you! Is there a way to know how many primary and alternate candidates there are for my specific bureau?

Hi, Asha,
While we don't give breakdowns by Bureau, we can tell you that a total of about 950 individuals were selected as primary, and a little over 670 were selected as alternate. That's Bureau-wide.
