GS to FPI'm currently a GS-12/supervising contracting officer with the air force. I'm considering becoming an FSO due to the mission they support and all the interactions I had with Embassies across the world while in the military.
My question is, i read that a GSO is the closest posisiton to a contracting officer. If I get selected to become a FSO, will i be place as a GSO to start of, or is there a junior position that everyone starts even though i have the experience. I will have 8 years of experience, both overseas and state side, as well as an MBA. The career track i was considering is management.
