Good afternoon. I almost balk at even asking as I feel a bit like an idiot, but 'Peter P' on the FSSFSO.com site is insistent. Is there any truth whatsoever to his below claims? If not, I'll contact the administrator of FSSFSO.com regarding his spread of misinformation. His post after being referred to this board regarding his claim to be in a January class:

'Yes they changed my invitation date to March 12th 2012. I've received the package and everything. I'm still told to be the only courier being hired in 2012. I plan to make my housing arrangements at Oakwood soon. Any other specialists going to the March class? This is so exciting!

Note: Don't believe everything the folks with the green checkmarks in the State Department website forum tell you. They are not the same people who make the hiring decisions, some of them are just random employees (some FSS's and FSO's). I saw posts on there from them saying they were awaiting on passing of the budget before they started hiring anyone, but then they hired about 60 FSOs for January before the budget got passed. The green-checkmark crew says they have not made any decisions on which specialists will be in which class, but my registrar, and other registrars, have known the upcoming class distributions for months. You gotta talk to the people in the registrar, and I've talked to people higher up than them for the real information.

Again...sorry to bother you with such stuff, but I'd like to get some clarity and then put an end to this guy's antics.

No invites have gone out for ANY positions in the March class. Whomever this individual is, he is not posting factual information. The decision to hire Foreign Service Generalists was only recently made by the Department.

As of right now, we are uncertain what classes our DS positions will be brought into until everything is finalized by the Department.

You must be user "slm" from that other forum. Why are you believing random stuff you read on third party websites? Are you bouncing back and forth between this official forum, and third party forums, trying to piece together information, refreshing your browser ever minute? Man you are pathetic! Just live your life and an offer for you may come or it may not. Enjoy your current job and stop driving yourself crazy. If you need real information or updates, call DOS HR or the registrar.

Aren't you doing the same thing if you can identify users on a spectrum of different sites? No point calling people pathetic on this site Just an observation.

You are all bickering like little school girls. The original poster posted a url so we could see what he/she is talking about. Then the OP said he/she was going to post something there, and they obviously did. Not hard to tell whos who. I do agree with the previous poster that believing stuff from random blogs and forums is just stupid. And constantly stalking this forum and the staff at State is pretty sad and pathetic, which is appropriate to call people. Just let it go. A watched pot never boils. The sooner you forget about the Foreign Service, the sooner you'll get invited...or not. With the reduced budget and hiring, you'll probably TIME OUT on the register!!

So did the original poster do something to you or impact your candidacy in some way with his/her question? Seemed like a pretty simple request. Isn't that the purpose of this forum, to offer people an opportunity to get factual information regarding their candidacy or prospective candidacy? Seems like the OP simply wanted to get the facts straight. Not an unreasonable request. I've looked over this site and I've seen quite a few similar questions. Not sure why your abrasive response was warranted. The OP simply wanted accurate information.

So when exaclty will the March invites go out? The 2012 budget was signed into law by the president a week ago.

I called the registrar today. I was told 5 diplomatic couriers will go to the 12 March FSS class
