Just saw this earlier! Doesnt sound as though any confirmation will be made about when they are opening but I would imagine some upcoming classes will be used to fill these posts. Good locations!

I saw Clinton's speech today on this..I am interested to see if this will require another round of Consular Adjudicators recruitment, or if there are already enough in the pool. Having spent time in both locations, I would like to take another shot at the language test and position.

That is great news about the two additional offices! Does anyone know at this point what the status is of the Portuguese training classes? Will there be another training class in November?

I'm hearing that after the first of the fiscal year, which apparently starts in October 2012, then they'll be pulling from the list at that time for however many openings they're hiring for. Those of us who are currently in the process of phone testing, OA, and medical and security clearances will compete with others already on the list. As I understand it, as a non-expert, the answer is yes, there will be a training "class" (or group) of new hirees sometime after October. Exactly when is of course unknown.

Found a little bit of info about the two consulates. They actually already exist but were closed at some point in the past and are now just being reopened.
