I applied to the Brazilian CA position last July. I had a Portuguese phone interview in August. Having been out of BR for 6 months w/o practice, I underestimated my abilities at the time and did not pass. I was surprised..I thought that you just needed to get score of 2.

Anyway, can I retake this phone test again, as many times as I want? Even if there are no announcement for more BR CA spots? I would like to have the option to have a passed test on file in the event that another recruitment commences..

Also, I am awaiting an FSO OA possible invite...so would any passing score be applicable to the FSO process also?

Telephone language tests are administered only in connection with a specific candidacy. For CA/LNA applicants they happen before the OA to make sure you have at least a minimum speaking ability; for career candidates they are offered after you pass the OA. To pass the Portuguese phone test you need a speaking level 3. You may review the required speaking level for languages in the "worldwide" sections of this website, both for generalists and specialists.

Obrigado....save a space for me in BR..I am getting a spot in one of those consulates eventually, CA, FSO, etc...sem dúvida.....

I forgot...I was never told what score I was given. I just received an email stating that I did not pass. Is there a way to obtain my score?

The phone tests are only pass/fail. There is no score.
