I recently did the OA and passed. However, my score was not that much higher than the cutoff. In the year or so that the Consular Adjudicator program has existed, what scores have been necessary for people to actually be hired? My language was Chinese. I know that people with higher scores are ranked higher up on the register, but have there been cases where people who passed the OA by only a couple of points were selected?

I can't speak specifically to the Chinese CA/LNA Register, but candidates with scores of 5.3 have been offered employment on other Registers. The Register is fluid, changes nearly daily, and your ranking one day may be quite different on another as people get hired, turn down offers, or request "do not call" status. Once you are on the Register, your Registrar will be your best source of information.

Two of us passed the Mandarin CALNA OA when I took it earlier this month, one with a 5.3. The officers who congratulated us said that (apart from medical and security clearances) if we made it to the register, neither of us should worry about expiring on it, that there was a high demand to fill these positions.

2 of you passed out of how many? Studying for OA but trying to keep expectations real.
